TelecityRedbus launches managed data backup services

Independent IT host, TelecityRedbus, set to launch an automated, high-performance data backup and recovery solution

Paris, June 26, 2007. TelecityRedbus is today strengthening its IT hosting and connectivity solutions and is launching a number of new managed data recovery services.

TelecityRedbus France has joined forces with Incentra Solutions to provide a high-performance, automated tape backup and recovery solution at the data centers where it hosts customer servers. Backup infrastructure consists of a system of top-quality tape libraries and automated tape backup products managed by CommVault Galaxy, the backup agent.

Every day, TelecityRedbus's fully automated backup solution copies critical data on customer servers directly onto the Incentra Solutions platform via a secure fiber channel connection. The data are stored on the platform in a format protected by means of a personal password and only the customer has access to a backup copy recorded on the server, not to the tapes themselves.

Physical and electronic access to the system is strictly limited to authorized staff working at the data centers. A full audit trail provides data integrity and ensures compliance with the regulations relative to the protection of personal data.

TelecityRedbus also checks that the backup process functioned correctly and, in the event of a problem, notifies the customer while restarting the backup if necessary. TelecityRedbus provides its customers with 24/7 access to the dedicated portal and current data and data history can thus be checked at any time.

The platform's reliable operating procedures mean that through Incentra, TelecityRedbus is able to offer its customers a service level agreement of 100% for all recoveries. Database backup can be executed without any interruption in database services. Customers conducting remote data backups (e.g. from equipment located outside the TelecityRedbus data center), are provided with a series of secure connectivity options.

The TelecityRedbus solution also offers the only backup service for MS Exchange that is certified by Microsoft, and can provide data backup and recovery services up to and including email systems. This service means that it is no longer necessary to wait hours while restoring all a company's messaging systems when only a single system or a single message has been lost.

Finally, only protected data are invoiced, not all the data transferred. The service can also be expanded to match growth in business operations.
